It's good, but could use some work
First off, I'm probably going to have to state that I'm not a fan of remixes, so I'm much harsher when it comes to those as a result, so I apologize in advance. At least you give proper credit to the original artist unlike most remixers I've come across, so that's a plus.
First off, the drums.. The rhythm change in the later part of your song at 1:20 just doesn't fit at all, and you should probably just keep it similar to the beginning. Not only that, but for some reason the toms just don't flow too well in your song. To be honest, they didn't flow very well in the original either, but it didn't matter for some reason.
Second, the ending, you may want to change it cuz its just one long suspended note and it kinda just comes at ya unexpected because the melody wants to go up, yet it drops way down and sustains when the melody never held for that long. Even if you just shortened this note to the same length as the others, it would still sound much better, but only if that was the very last thing we heard.
I suppose the main plus is what you did with the melody when you changed it after the main part. It was pretty nice. I feel though, for this to be a more true remix, you would have to mask the main melody somehow by not keeping it the same as the original. In my opinion, a good remix makes it not a direct copy of any part of the song, or waits until much later to throw in the direct copied parts, or even does stuff like make the melody become the bassline.
Good work on the song, I just feel if you polished it up some and tightened things up, it has the promise of being a truly great remix. I don't usually review remixes, and by now you can probably see why.
